The Funhouse Commons is a community center on Orcas Island. We are looking for energetic individuals who like hanging out with kids of all ages to help with our summer camp and summer activities. Previous experience working with children in a recreational setting  and experience working in leadership role preferred.

The “FC5″ starts at 9 a.m. on July 7th (parade day) on the village green.

The Funhouse “Ninja” Camp is Monday – Friday from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m.  Kids should bring snacks and a bag lunch.  The supervised camp program will incorporate learning, outdoor play and hands-on involvement with organized sports and games; arts & crafts, fun science projects and more.  “Ninjas” will sometimes leave Funhouse premises to participate in beach exploration, farm tours, and historical island sights. Other activities, like more advanced art classes and open play time will follow Monday through Friday from 1 p.m. – 5 p.m. Call 376-7177 or email Krista at krista@thefunhouse.org for more info. Ages 7 -12.

Back in 1999, when The Funhouse was first imagined, things were lookin’ pretty bad for kids on Orcas. Since then, things have gotten better and better every single year: Drug use is down, tobacco use is down, crime use is down. Every Friday night is Teen Night at The Funhouse! Fun, safe, place for teens on weekend nights. 6-8:30 p.m. is for middle school, 8:30 to 11 p.m. is for high schoolers! For more info click here.
