The Funhouse Afterschool Program provides a safe and inclusive environment for all Orcas kids in grades K-5. Staff offer daily pick-up from Orcas Island Elementary and Orcas Christian School during the school year. Activities include games, arts & crafts, outdoor play and more! The program runs Monday-Friday, 3:15 pm-5:30 pm, with an early start time of 2:15 pm on Wednesdays (public school) and Fridays (Christian school).

The Funhouse Afterschool Program warmly welcomes 4th and 5th graders to our designated drop-in space every Wednesday from 2:30-5:30 pm. Join us for board games, snacks and quality hang time with friends in a relaxed environment.

Music with Miss Mary is a mixed-age class tailored for babies, children up to age 5, and their caregivers. Led by Miss Mary, each class encourages active participation and learning through play, song, movement & dance, and rhythm instruments.

Playgroup at the Funhouse provides a safe indoor space for children and their caregivers to bond, explore and thrive together. Connect with other families while interacting with an array of age-appropriate toys. and play equipment. Mondays from 3-5 pm, Wednesdays & Fridays from 12-2 pm.

Ukulele Class is for kids Ages in Grades 1-5, both for beginners and players who may already have a little experience. The ukulele is a great starter instrument with only four strings that are easy on the fingers and a small body, which makes them perfect for kids! Ukuleles will be provided, but if you have your own, please feel free to bring it to class.

We offer two separate classes for kids (4-7 yrs and 8-11 yrs) who want to learn the violin and have fun with other kids doing it! All the basics will be covered - how to hold the violin and bow, how to take care of your violin, basic plucking, bowing, and playing in time with others, and finally playing a song or two.

Kids' Chorus is for all kids ages 6-11 who like to sing. We will sing both popular and traditional, well-known favorites, and may even write our own songs! Participants will explore parts-singing and be introduced to harmony. Funhouse Staff will pick the kids up at the school and bring them to the Funhouse for Kids' Chorus.

A great option for youth in grades 6-12, Youth Chorus is a mixed-age, co-ed singing group. Join us on Mondays where we will learn to sing in harmony and explore the basics of sight-singing from music. The goal is to have fun, listen to each other, work together, and see what our voices are capable of.
Middle & High School

The Peer Mentor Program meets every Wednesday at the public school between 2:20-3:20. High schoolers plan and facilitate activities for the middle and high school mentor pairs. This program promotes school-connectedness and strengthens relationships within the public school.

The Rainbow Club is our bi-weekly meetup space for LGBTQIA+ middle and high schoolers and allies. We watch queer movies and shows, play games and hang out, creating a safe space for LGBTQIA+ youth to connect, relax and explore the intersections of their identities.

The Art/Skills Mentor Program is a four-month apprenticeship style mentor program. We match middle and high school youth with artists and makers in the community for one on one weekly sessions in which they develop skills, test out different mediums, and work on a project that will be shown in a public gallery show.

The Strengthening Families Program 10-14 is an evidence-based family workshop. It runs for seven weeks, and includes family dinner, breakout sessions for parents and youth, and ends a culminating family session. The program focuses on building healthy boundaries and expectations for youth who are 10-14 years old, and equips parents with the tools they need to navigate adolescence.

TFAB is a collaborative group of middle and high school students who plan teen events, such as our teen movie nights and parties. They also guide and inform the Funhouse on programming, and provide necessary input on how to best engage with our middle and high school community.

Mondays from 11:30 am-1 pm. This is a machine sewing class for adults taught by three fantastic teachers with experience in accommodating students with disabilities. There is no experience required to take this class and we can adapt to most any circumstance. Added bonus, snacks!

Tuesdays from 1-2pm. Grace will be hosting an afternoon tea. This is a time to get together and chat with friends and meet new people. This program is for adults with disabilities and caregivers of folks of all ages.

Fridays from 11 am-12:30 pm. A social gathering to work on projects together. Choose what you want to work on, we provide materials or bring your own.
